Happy Valentines Day!

A kiss from Daddy

Lauren made Mommy & Daddy this special valentine at "little school!"

I have finally gotten around to starting my own blog about Lauren! I have kept a diary about her since the day she was born. The journal was an idea that I was given by Philip's Aunt Mary. I took her good advice to heart and am still writting in it to this day. With my budding photography hobby and journaling passion, I only wish that I had started this blog years ago! Lauren is such a funny, sweet child! There's always something funny to write about!

Well, I can't believe that Valentine's Day is already here! This new year is flying by! It's so hard to believe that we are celebrating Lauren's 4th Valentine's Day! Time flies! Each year since she was 4 months old, Philip has made a tradition of giving Lauren flowers. This year, she was very proud of her colorful carnation bouquet! Also, she and I both received necklaces and flowers! Philip gave me a dozen red roses and a diamond "journey" necklace. Lauren was given a gold necklace with a little heart charm that has a cross in the middle. She was very proud of it, and we had to convience her not to wear it to school in case it broke or was yanked! Can't you just see the tears if that cotastrophe has happened?

Lauren went to Cubbies tonight at Broadway Baptist. Baptist. You may be asking yourself..... "Gasp...Holley, I thought you 3 were Presbyterian (or in Philip's case, still Methodist) Well, since our little Clover Hill is so small, we don't have the youth group opportunities for her that we find at Broadway. Since Lauren already goes to daycare at that church, she already knows many of the children in her Wednesday night classes! Cubbies is part of the AWANA Wednesday night program at Baptist churches, and Cubbies is the class for 3 and 4 year old children. I was surprised that it wasn't cancelled tonight. Philip and I ate at a nearby Mexican resturant called "Margaritas" while waiting on her...tee hee hee! Even though we don't attend church there, she loves her teacher, Mrs. Lennie, and she is loving the bible lessons and activities that they are teaching. Lauren especially loves the puppet show and flannel board lessons. It's so important to me to allow her spiritual side to have the opportunity to grow and flourish! She has a bible verse to memorize each week. Since we began attending in December, 2006, she was succesfully memorized (and remembered!) all of her weekly bible verses! We are so proud of our little ladybug!

Happy Valentines Day! Mommy and Daddy both love you so much, sweet Lauren!
