Lauren's 5th Birthday weekend festivities! (Sept.)

Here is Lauren's official party invitation. Lauren LOVED the fact
that she was standing beside Ariel! I paid a lady on ebay a
small fee to make this on her photoshop program with her disney software.
She saved it as a jpeg file and emailed it to me. I then uploaded it to Walgreens and
printed them out. Too easy an way cute!

A kiss for the Birthday girl!

If you click on this picture, you'll be able
to get a better look at the worried look on
Ladybug's face. She HATED that robot mouse!

Pappy presented Lauren with a very special gift,
a saphire birthstone pendant and necklace. I loved it and
I know that she did, too!

Lauren's party friends!

On the next week following Lauren's birthday, I hosted
a birthday party for Lauren at her pre-k class at Broadway Baptist.
This is Ladybug with her best friend, Emma. The 2 of them
will be going to the same Kindergarten next fall!

As you can tell, Lauren had a great party weekend...er...um...week I
suppose. (since I did manage to draw it out that long!) She was so proud
to have me come to her school for the party! Baby doll, I love you
with all of my heart and soul. You deserved it all! I am so proud of you!

Well, Lauren was quite a lucky girl to have had so much fun during her 5th birthday weekend back in September. Of course, she is my baby, so naturally I have to go "all out" for her!! Since her birthday fell on a Friday this year for the first time since her birth (she was born on a Friday), I decided to ask for the day off. First, Memmie came over to our house and went with us to eat lunch at Chuck E. Cheese for pizza, games, and the show! Lauren opened one of her gifts from us there, a Hannah Montana guitar. She is always making up songs, dancing around, and performing. So, Philip and I thought that it would be a great gift for her (not to mention she loves Hannah Montana on the Disney channel.) Uncle Wayne was able to stop by and meet us for lunch since he had the weekend off during that month. Lauren is growing up so fast, she can now play the skeetball game the correct way now and throw that ball up the ramp. Also, we had some luck with a spongebob coin flip game and won 100 tickets!

After lunch, the 3 girls went back to Maryville to a paint your own pottery store called "Polka Dot Pottery." What a cute place! Lauren chose a cat jewelry box, Memmie chose a cupcake, and I chose a flower plate and ladybug. I put Lauren's handprint in the center of the plate. Her hand was just able to fit inside the inner circle of the plate. It will be a treasured keepsake to remind me of how precious she was at that age!

On Saturday morning, we had a soccer game and Lauren's team won! Actually, it was her first time to score a goal. She even scored 2 goals that game. I hated that Wayne, Becky, Memmie, and Pappy missed it because she had never played that well!! I felt like it took her a few times to warm up to being in a new situation and not be so shy. Well, she's definitely not shy at soccer now! Lauren was on fire! She has some defensive skills....let me tell you! And yes....I am bragging! I do a post later about her soccer season.

Saturday afternoon was Lauren's birthday party at the house with some friends and family. We set the party later in the day to allow time for us to get home from soccer, eat lunch, bathe Lauren, dress, and do last minute finger food preparation. I had cheesy beef dip, salsa, sausage balls, cheese cubes, Knorr vegetable/spinach dip, carrots, and a few other goodies. I think that the best food item was definitely the cake from Wal-Mart's bakery. They always do an outstanding job with decorating and the cakes are always moist and delicious! Lauren chose an Ariel the Little Mermaid themed party. She wanted people to dress for a Luau (her idea...where she came up with it...I don't know.) Anyway, she wore a grass skirt for a short while at the beginning of the party but then changed into a Hawaiian print dress...co cute! Her main gift from us this year was the Fisher Price loving family doll house. She received the furniture for other rooms of the house from Wayne, Becky, Memmie, and Pappy.
