Well, we were off from school on Monday, January 19th, 2009 in honor of MLK Jr. day. It just so happened to snow on Sunday night, and we really enjoyed playing in the snow and sledding on our round sled. I was glad that the snow began falling on Sunday night so that Lauren could spend a little bit of time playing in it with her Daddy. They had a blast in the backyard with the sled and throwing snowballs at each other. Usually the snow melts by the time Philip comes home in the evenings. On Monday morning, Lauren and I got out in the snow and played as well. I got a big kick out of watching her pull two of her babydolls around in the snow on the sled. That is something she has done just about each winter when it snows. I am glad to see that "little girl" in her still loving to play with her babydolls. Lauren just loves the snow, and it was a shame that it happened on a day that I wasn't already out of school!
That day also marked a very important historical event in our nation's political history. It was the presidential inauguration of America's first African American President. Although I didn't vote for him, I did want to watch the event of television because if it's historical significance.
