Getting ready for Jazz!

Strike a pose! What a silly girl!

Wow! Look at Ladybug doing the splits! All I can say is, "ouch!"

Streching is very important

Lauren can definitely do some high kicks, but this doesn't show how high that she can get!

My little Jazz Baby!

Lauren did such a great job keeping up with the steps and showing active listening.

The first dance observation of Lauren's 2nd year in dance occurred on Tuesday, December 16, 2008. She is taking a one hour long 4-5 year old ballet and tap class from 4:30 - 5:30 pm on Tuesdays. From 5:30 - 6:00 pm, she takes a 5-7 year old pre-jazz class. She is one of the older girls in her ballet/tap class, but Lauren is one of the youngest girls in the pre-jazz class (although you'd never know by looking at her height!) I had hoped that the jazz class would not be too difficult for her, but she has done an excellent job working hard at it, perservering, and keeping up with the steps. I have been proud of her for not giving up and practicing at home on a few steps.

I have been proud of her accomplishments and growth with maturity and dance abilities. It is amazing to see this growth from last year. However, what is more important is that she is enjoying herself and loves what she does. I asked her teacher, Ms. Ursula, how she thought that Lauren was progressing. She told me that she is keeping up with the steps and doing well, however she could stand to talk less to her friends during class at times. LOL! That's my girl....talk, talk, talk!
